The equipment, installation and finishing are considered together, with a written scope before work begins.
We discuss the entrances, approaches and other areas you wish to see, then review the camera positions, viewing angles, available light and practical fixing points. The aim is useful coverage without overlooking the character of the property or the privacy of neighbouring spaces.
Camera cabling is planned around the building rather than left as an afterthought. Discuss wired IP cameras, compatible Power over Ethernet equipment, internal cable routes and suitable outdoor connections. Existing wiring is assessed before a decision is made to reuse or replace it.
Discuss how recordings will be stored, how long you would like to retain them and which household members need access. Recorder capacity, equipment compatibility and any app or cloud charges are confirmed in the quotation. There is no assumption that every system includes a subscription.
The agreed installation includes a review of the camera views and a demonstration of the relevant controls. Where remote viewing is part of the scope, we discuss account ownership and who may access the system. Keep passwords and recovery information private; they are not requested through the website.
For an existing CCTV system, send the equipment make and model with a description of the issue. We can discuss camera replacement, image problems, recorder changes and cabling faults. Reusing existing components depends on their condition and compatibility, not simply their appearance.
Your quotation sets out the agreed camera count, equipment, installation, cable routes and access requirements. Recording capacity, remote access, ongoing charges and any additional network or electrical work are confirmed before booking.

We first check the recorder, camera models, wiring and available connections. Compatible equipment may be retained, while any components that need replacing are listed in the proposed scope.
Remote viewing can be included where the selected equipment and network support it. The app, account ownership, access permissions and any subscription are explained before the system is agreed.
We consider discreet routes wherever the property allows. Concealed work, external routes, access restrictions and any making good are discussed beforehand, so the appearance and cost are clear.
They serve different purposes. Cameras provide a view and recordings of the agreed areas; an intruder alarm uses detectors and alerts. We can discuss them together as part of a broader home security installation.
